On Sunday, December 3, we join together at 11:00 a.m. for worship where we begin the celebration of the Season of Advent with Holy Communion and a new sermon series Busyness &  Bethlehem.

The first Sunday of Advent is the beginning of the Christian year. Since Halloween, stores have been promoting the Christmas season, which for many people means busyness. Busyness and Bethlehem seem to leave us frayed with emotional stresses, physical exhaustion, bills, long lines, traffic jams, and hectic schedules. Often we hear the words, “If we can just get through Christmas?” Yet, in our busyness, we don’t want to miss Bethlehem; in our holiday hustle, we don’t want to ignore the story of Jesus.

Rev. David J. Hanna will deliver the sermon Busyness &  Bethlehem: Immanuel.

In Jesus, we have a right understanding of who God is. In Jesus, we have a new experience of what God is like. In our busyness, we need to find Bethlehem again. In our hectic lives, we need to experience the love of God anew.

We invite you to join us in the Chalice Room following the service for coffee and fellowship.
