This Sunday, September 2, we begin a new sermon series – A Teacher’s Book at our 11:00 a.m. worship service. Worship also will include the Sacrament of Holy Communion.
The series explores the Book of Ecclesiastes, which teaches us valuable lessons to follow to have a meaningful life. Life, its meaning, is like holding smoke; it is fleeting. So the author’s basic approach is to use the Teacher to talk about ways we seek to find meaning in the world around us apart from God. To this end, the Teacher engages in a lifelong quest for a meaningful life, and discovers some of life’s lessons and shares them with us.
Rev. David J. Hanna will deliver the sermon A Teacher’s Book: Unfollow based on Ecclesiastes: 2:1-12.
In pursuit of affluence, wisdom, status, and power, we find in the Book of Ecclesiastes, the Teacher is not content with life; but he desperately wants to be. More than anything else, he wants to live a meaningful life. So, he engages in a lifelong quest, which is then recorded in this book. Throughout his searching, the Teacher offers us life lessons.
Following the service we welcome you to join us for fellowship in the Chalice Room, next to the Sanctuary.
We look forward to seeing you on Sunday!
