We invite you to join us for worship, education and fellowship at Calvary, where you will experience a church community filled with God’s love and a warm welcome to all.
At the 10:00 a.m. worship service, Elder Barkley Butler will deliver the sermon Alternative Realities:
Like many in today’s world, the people of the church at Corinth were divided on several issues. Also, like us, some felt that they knew more or knew better than others. What might we learn from Paul’s advice to the Corinthians that could help us heal the present divisions in our world? Is it knowledge that could bring us together, or love? And if love, what sort of love?
Following the service, everyone is invited to gather in the Chalice Room next to the Sanctuary for fellowship.
Christian Education at 9:00 a.m.
Faith Alive! Practical Wisdom for Putting Love in Action: A Study of the Letter of James
This Sunday is the third in a four-week study of the Letter of James from 9:00 – 9:45 in the dining room led by Rev. Richard Cassel. Traditionally believed to be written by James the brother of Jesus, this New Testament book is a collection of Proverb-like teachings, based on the teachings of Jesus, especially the Sermon on the Mount. It contains practical teaching of ways we put our Christian faith and love into action.
Everyone is welcome to attend!
