The ministry of a deacon as set forth in Scripture is one of compassion, witness, and service. They model and express the redeeming love of Jesus Christ for the poor, the hungry, the sick, the lost, the friendless, the oppressed, or anyone in distress. Deacon’s minister to the needs of the congregation, rejoicing with those who rejoice and supporting those in times of trial and sorrow. Please remember to visit the Deacons’ Table to sign a card for members of the Calvary Family who the Deacons have identified in need of our love and prayers.
As you consider your tithes for 2023, please think about donating to the Deacons’ Fund. Recently, the diaconate donated money to World Central Kitchen, a refugee family, to the food pantry, and to the Care and Outreach program.
