Christian Education Including Adult Series In The Spotlight: “Love Wins”
Sunday January 19, 2020 @ 9:30 am – 10:30 am
Join us for a five-week study based on the best-selling book, “Love Wins” by Rob Bell, Sundays, January 12 – February 9, 9:30 – 10:35 a.m., in the Dining Room, taught by Richard Cassel.
Rob Bell, in the introduction to his book, writes:
“There are a growing number of us who have become acutely aware that Jesus’ story has been hijacked by a growing number of other stories, stories Jesus isn’t interested in telling because they have nothing to do with what he came to do. The plot has been lost and it’s time to reclaim it.
“I’ve written this book because the kind of faith Jesus invites us into doesn’t skirt the big questions about topics like God and Jesus and salvation and judgment and heaven and hell, but takes us deep into the heart of them.”
The sub-title of the book is “A book about heaven, hell, and the fate of every person who ever lived.” These are the things we’ll be talking about, using the Bible and the book as our texts.
The Library Has Two Copies of the Book Love Wins by Rob Bell – They are on the Featured Books table and available for your use. Also, on the table waiting for checkout are DVD’s by Rob Bell. These short videos, from a series called NOOMA, explore the world from the perspective of Jesus. Rob narrates each program, inviting the watchers to search and question their beliefs. These make excellent short devotionals.
Newcomers are always welcome to attend Calvary’s Christian Education programs, which are held each Sunday morning from September – May prior to worship. Our members will be pleased to help you find your way to the class locations. For a complete listing of classes please click here.
