Sunday November 17, 2019 @ 11:00 am – 12:00 pm
This Sunday we will resume the “Babylon” sermon series. In the first sermon (Babylon: Recognizing It, July 14) we considered what we mean by Babylon and why we fail to recognize our modern Babylons. The question in the second sermon (Babylon: Sliding In, July 21) was, “How do we come to be in these Babylons?”
Our texts are Romans 8:31-39 and Psalm 137 and the sermon title is “Babylon: Surviving.”
The ancient Israelites faced choices when they found themselves captive in Babylon. We’ll explore the choices they made to see what light they may shed on the choices we can make when we find ourselves in our modern “Babylons.”
Elder Barkley Butler will be preaching.
All are welcome to join us for worship, which includes contributions from members and clergy alike who lead us in a weekly expression of our faith. For more information about what to expect when visiting Calvary, please click here to learn about our worship service, childcare, parking and more.
