Sunday, June 30 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
All are welcome to join us for worship, which includes contributions from members and clergy alike who lead us in a weekly expression of our faith.
This week’s service will include a reading from Acts 10:10-23 and the sermon “What God Has Made Clean.”
Peter is given a great and life-changing gift in the form of a vision from God that challenges everything he knows to be right and holy. Soon after, the Gentiles will become a part of the ever-growing Christian church. The contemporary church, Christians, are often found in a place of division and conflict over what is right and what is holy; and yet, we lose sight of one of those hidden commandments offered to Peter, “What God has made clean you must not call profane.” Instead of looking to be right, perhaps we could listen for and look for the unlikely messengers and messages of God’s own choosing.
Student Pastor Ben Fitzgerald-Fye will deliver the sermon.
This Sunday, we bring to a close Ben’s student pastor relationship with Calvary as he seeks to answer God’s call to serve another church as their pastor.
Please join us for Fellowship and refreshments in the Chalice room following the service, when we will take time to thank him for his service and offer our support for his future plans.
