Join us in celebration of Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 12, when our worship will include beautiful musical from our Chancel and Bell Choirs, organ and piano, readings from Psalm 96; Ruth 1:1-18 and the sermon “A Moabite and A Mother-in-Law.”
This week we are pleased to premier the anthem “Sing A New Song” composed by Daniel Perlongo. Mr. Perlongo is emeritus professor at Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he taught theory and composition. He and his music have won acclaim and awards in this country and abroad.
“Sing A New Song” is an anthem for SATB chorus, organ, and piano and inspired by Psalm 96 – text adapted from verses 1, 4, 6, 11-12. The song was written for Calvary Presbyterian Church. For more information, click here to view this week’s bulletin insert.
In the sermon “A Moabite and A Mother-in-Law” we explore the lessons in Ruth 1:1-18.
Ruth said to Naomi, “Where you go, I will go; where you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your God my God.”
Rev. David J. Hanna will deliver the sermon.
Following the service all are invited to join together in the Chalice Room, next to the Sanctuary for fellowship and refreshments.
We look forward to seeing you on Sunday!
