At 695 School Street, Indiana PA
The Mission and Outreach Committee is excited to report that both Christ Episcopal Church and Keys Montessori School are currently conducting food drives for the food pantry. We thank Montessori and Christ Episcopal for their partnership and you, members of Calvary, for your ongoing support as well. Because we are making partnerships around the community to support our little food pantry, the Mission Committee decided to rename it the Community Outdoor Food Pantry. We distribute between 365 and 400 pounds of food per month.

The Free Outdoor Food Pantry sits on School Street at the entrance to Calvary Presbyterian Church, Indiana, PA, thanks to the generosity of the Houser family and A & A Construction & Home Improvements. This food pantry program is serving those with food insecurity in our community. Because no tracking of the recipients is done, no government funds or surplus foods can be sought for the pantry. It relies on the generosity of many to continue to meet the needs of our neighbors. And sadly, the current economy and high inflation have caused the use of the pantry to increase.
Currently there are seventeen tireless volunteers who keep the shelves stocked in any weather and even during the holiday season. What a wonderful blessing each of you are to this ministry. And to all the individuals who quietly donate money and items to the food bank repeatedly, we could NOT continue without your selfless giving and caring for those who are struggling to deal with rising costs and diminishing resources. Thank you so much to everyone for sharing your gifts and talents in this mission work.
If you have not had a opportunity to be involved with the pantry yet, consider bringing one or more of these items for the pantry any and every time you come by. We always need cereal, powered milk packets, peanut butter, jelly, tuna fish, crackers, noodles, mac and cheese, beef stews, canned soups, vegetables, and fruits. Hygiene products are also needed and appreciated, such as soap, shampoo, toilet paper, paper towels, baby wipes, dishwashing soap, laundry detergent, etc. There is a red plastic tub outside the church office door where you can drop your donations. We thank you in advance for your help. It truly does take a village of God’s people to make a difference in our world.
