You are invited to join Indiana community churches and organizations for the Indiana Area CROP Hunger Walk on Sunday, October 2, 2016 to help support hunger relief in Indiana County and around the world.
The walk will start and end at the Calvary Presbyterian Church. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. followed by a 1-mile or 1 1/2-mile leisurely walk around downtown Indiana at 1 p.m.
Light refreshments will be served at Calvary Presbyterian Church following the walk.
There is no cost to participate but donations and pledges are encouraged.
The annual walk is part of the World Church Service effort to support and call attention to local and world hunger.
The Church World Service will receive 75 percent of the donations and 25 percent will be donated to the Indiana County Community Action Program (ICCAP).
You may participate as an individual or as a group, large or small. As an added incentive, a friendly competition is held among participants in the Indiana Area CROP Hunger Walk and the “Golden Shoe” will be awarded to the organization raising the most money for the cause.
Checks with your donations may be payable to CWS-CROP.
