The Saturday Club invites the congregation to a covered dish luncheon at noon on Saturday, May 14 in the dining room. Following the luncheon, Dr. Charles and Donna Cashdollar will review the process in writing the book entitled The IUP Story from Normal School to University, written by Dr. Cashdollar with page design by his wife, Donna.
Meat dishes, beverages and table settings will be provided. Please sign the chart located on the center pole bulletin board in the Dining Room to attend so that we have a general idea of how many places to set up.
Detailed information sheets are available near the sign-up chart.
The Saturday Club is an organization for Calvary church members that dates back at least 65 years. It was originally known as “The Couples Club”, which later became “The Pairs and Spares”. After a hiatus of several years, it started up again 13 years ago as “Almost Seniors.” It is now known as The Saturday Club. Whatever the name, the purpose has remained the same; that of providing a social gathering opportunity for Calvary church members on the third Saturday of the month. There are no officers, no dues, no treasury and no membership roster. All church members and friends are invited to attend. Light refreshments are generally served and are followed by a program that might be entertaining, inspirational, or educational, but always, we hope, enjoyable.
