We look forward to celebrating with you this Sunday at our service, held at 11:00 a.m. which is traditional in style fine warm greetings, fine musical contributions, include the Hand Bell Quartet, and sermons that are based on scriptures and how we can apply the lessons learned to our lives today.
This week, Rev. David J. Hanna will deliver the sermon Unpopular Parables: Uncomfortable Hypocrites based on Matthew 24:45-51:
When the Son of Man comes, what will happen? The Parable of the Unfaithful Steward is a classic parable of judgment which conforms to the expected pattern. According to the pattern, the Son of Man will punish evildoers, knock tyrants from their thrones, cast sinners into the outer darkness, and generally clean up the place. If this prospect doesn’t make us uncomfortable, then we need to realize Jesus’ parable is directed toward us, to the church, not the world.
Following the service we meet for fellowship and refreshments in the Chalice Room next to the sanctuary.
We also have a wide variety of Christian education programs beginning at 9:30 a.m. where newcomers are always welcome.
We look forward to seeing you on Sunday!
