Rev. David J. Hanna
Pastor
Reverend David J. Hanna was born in Washington, Pennsylvania and raised in the Lancaster, Pennsylvania area. He is a graduate of Eckerd College (formerly, Florida Presbyterian College) in St. Petersburg, Florida, and received his Masters of Divinity Degree from Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia. David and his wife, Brenda, have two children.
Brenda Brock
Office Manager
Brenda Brock was born in Indiana, Pennsylvania. She joined the Calvary staff in 2011. Her office experience is in both profit and not-for-profit organizations. Brenda and her husband, Tony, have two daughters.
Dory Campbell
Director of Community Assistance and Mission
Dory Campbell is from the Vandergrift, PA area but has been an Indiana resident for 47 years. She is a cradle Lutheran. Much of her adult life she has volunteered or been employed with the church in various roles. She and her husband have 3 adult children, 2 spouses of children, and 4 wonderful grandchildren to love and enjoy.
Becky Chadwick
Director of Christian Education
Becky Chadwick is from Skowhegan, Maine however she has resided in Pennsylvania for 30 years with the last four being in Indiana. She is a graduate of The University of Maine Farmington with a bachelor’s degree in special education and elementary education and a master’s degree in special education from Temple University. Becky has been active in ministry as a leader at Lincoln Park Community United Methodist Church in Reading, PA, Sunday School teacher and Worship Leader. She has a passion for sharing the love of Christ with everyone and she believes that growing through Christian education deepens our relationship with God and with each other.
Marcie Leo
Communications Coordinator
Marcie Leo is a lifelong resident of Markle, a village in Allegheny Twp. She was raised in the Presbyterian denomination and is an ordained elder. She sings as female lead in the Contemporary Christian band “Risen To Save” which was recently featured on Cornerstone Television's "Hope Today". She has over 25 years experience in for-profit and not-for-profit administration and 15 years in web design and social media. She and her husband, Paul, have two married adult children with their spouses, and three grandchildren.
Kimberly Blackgrove
Bookkeeper
Kimberly Blackgrove was born in Texas but has lived in Western PA most of her life and has lived in Apollo for the past 25 years. She received her B.S. degree in Business/Marketing from Penn State.
In addition to Calvary, she also works at the Kiski Presbytery, Boiling Springs and a few other bookkeeping jobs as well. So, if she doesn’t remember everything off the top of her head, that’s why!
Kimberly has a son that is currently in his 3rd year of college. She enjoys driving her cute convertible in nice weather and the back of the Harley any chance she gets. She also enjoys playing racquetball when she can squeeze it in.
Richard Smith
Head Sexton
Richard Smith, the Head Sexton, has lived in Indiana County for the past fifty years. Over the years he has developed into a Jack-of-all-trades, which is helpful when working here at Calvary. Since being employed here, he has had to do almost everything but preach and play the organ.
Ken Leasure
Sexton
Ken Leasure was raised in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. He joined the Calvary staff in 2010. He is a former Army Reservist and enjoys golfing. Ken and his wife, Cindy, reside in Indiana, PA.
Matthew Cyphert
Director of Music Ministry
Matthew Cyphert was born in Latrobe, Pennsylvania and raised in the Indiana, Pennsylvania area. He is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Kansas State University with a Master of Music, and West Virginia University with a Doctor of Musical Arts. Matthew is a professional vocalist, teacher of singing, choral director, pianist, and music minister. He is coming to Calvary Presbyterian from his previous post at Trinity Presbyterian Church of Clarksburg where he served as choir director and organist. Other previous positions were held at the First Presbyterian Church of Manhattan Kansas, the First Baptist Church of Glen Campbell PA, and the United Presbyterian Church of Blairsville PA. Though he can often be found performing as a vocalist or choir director, Matthew is also a passionate teacher of singing. Matthew has been teaching voice for over eight years with positions held at Kansas State University and West Virginia University. Music has always been Matthew’s strongest connection to his faith, and he is hopeful that his passions will help to promote the good word through his service at Calvary.
Roberta Jones
Associate Director of Music
Roberta Jones grew up in Calvary Church. She studied organ with Laura Knepshield in Apollo and Russell Wichman in Pittsburgh, and was organist at the Presbyterian Church of Mt. Washington for thirty years before accepting the position at Calvary in 2001. Currently, she is on the executive board of the Pittsburgh chapter of the Presbyterian Association of Musicians. In October 2015 and 2016, Roberta was heard in recital on the 73-rank Reuter pipe organ at Heinz Memorial Chapel in Pittsburgh. In addition to her home in Pittsburgh, Roberta maintains a family farm a few miles west of town, which is a favorite location for congregational picnics and outings.
Emily Ghorm
Handbell Choir Director
Emily Ghorm was raised in Allentown Pennsylvania but currently resides in Pittsburgh. She is a current IUP student studying general music with a focus on percussion and communications media. She spent most of her childhood at Quakertown United Methodist Church, where she played in both the childrens and adult bell choir. She is currently in the IUP Percussion Ensemble and the IUP Wind Ensemble.
Norma Sherry
Nursery Caregiver
Norma loves caring for the children of Calvary. She always brings willing hands and a happy heart to task.
Samantha Chadwick
Assistant Nursery Caregiver
Samantha is a 2023 graduate of Indiana Sr. High School. Beginning in October she will be continuing the cosmetology program at Indiana County Technical School. Samantha adores her two nieces and nephew and loves how unpredictable children can be. She enjoys caring for and playing with all children and looks forward to meeting all the parents and children of Calvary!
