The Sacrament of Baptism is a special way to experience and celebrate God’s grace and covenant in Christ. According to the Presbyterian Church’s (U.S.A.) Constitution it’s a sign and seal representing God’s faithfulness, cleansing sin, new beginnings, a reminder of God’s love, being united with Christ, and becoming a part of the church family.
When we baptize younger children, it’s a beautiful reminder that God’s love embraces them even before they can respond in faith. As a congregation, Calvary takes on the important role of nurturing these baptized children in their Christian journey.
To get ready for infant baptism, a couple of things need to happen. First, at least one parent needs to be a member of Calvary. Second, parents need to briefly meet with the pastor to discuss the baptism.
For adult baptism, a person needs to be a member of Calvary.
